Following a raid at the mother's home, she was arrested in the Buenos Aires locality of González Catán. Officers seized six mobile phones from the woman, documentation, and other items of interest to the case, which is being handled by the Functional Instruction and Trial Unit No. 8 of Berazategui.
Two people were arrested for the sexual exploitation of minors, including the mother of an eight-year-old girl who sent photos of the minor and received money transfers in return. They were apprehended in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of San Cristóbal and the Buenos Aires locality of González Catán.
According to the police report accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the City Police rescued the minor as part of an investigation that, in just three days, led to the arrest of the mother and the man who was recruiting girls through social networks.
The operation was carried out by officers from the Special Technological Investigations Division following a complaint that alerted authorities to the adult's activities. The search began on February 20. In that instance, the father of a minor reported that his daughter had been contacted by a man via TikTok, where he gained the trust of minors and then moved the conversation to private messaging platforms, where he sent files related to child sexual exploitation.
On the same messaging platforms, the accused expressed his intention to meet in person and mentioned another girl, whom he identified as his “girlfriend.” In this context, investigators conducted an exhaustive analysis of profiles and accounts on social networks, which allowed them to identify the suspect and locate him at a home in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of San Nicolás, where he was finally arrested at the intersection of Montevideo and Juan D. Perón streets.
At the time of the arrest, his mobile phone was seized, where a large amount of child sexual exploitation material was found, and direct conversations between the man and the mother of an 8-year-old girl were detected. In these chats, the systematic exchange of images of the minor by the mother was also verified, as well as money transfers and financial benefits, which evidenced a sustained relationship between them. The content the woman sent was used as a tool to recruit other girls virtually.
The minor was located, and due to the potential risk to her integrity, she was placed under protection two days after the start of the case.
